Robert Eder

Born and raised in Austria/Europe. Went to college in double winter Olympic city Innsbruck, after receiving my Bachelors in Computer Science (BSCS), I worked 3 years in Munich/Germany at Siemens then moved to New York. After 24 years of independent computer consulting in New York, I moved to Los Angeles, continuing what I love most: sophisticated, high level back end programming.

The Boeing (formerly McDonnell Douglas) C-17 Globemaster III is a large military transport aircraft. Developed for the United States Air Force from the 1980s to the early 1990s by McDonnell Douglas, the C-17 is used for rapid strategic airlift of troops and cargo to main operating bases or forward operating bases throughout the world.
Analysis of existing C-source code for the "Proximity Sensor Data Acquisition Unit (PSDAU)" of the Military Aircraft C17. Design and implementation of software solutions to improve timing requirements from 10 second cycle time to 70ms cycle time under worst conditions. Testing and documentation in accordance with US Government/Military software quality standards.

Reuters - Senior Database Engineer

Developed mission critical heart-beat monitor utility for the Federal Reserve Bank New York's MDDS (Market Data Distribution System). This utility monitors the accuracy of real-time trading data from Reuters/Telerate and other data feeds. Supported/Managed all aspects of FRBNY MDDS staging, installation, acceptance testing, cutover and on-line operations. Client / Server development between TiPS (Ticker Plant, consolidated Market Feeds, on Stratus VOS) and distributed digital Real-Time MIPS (on SUN SPARC, UNIX). Design and development of data transfer from Stratus Host to SUN SPARCstation 10 (server) via X.25 communications. Implementation of UNIX/Berkley socket communications over TCP/IP LAN environment to reach target clients (MS- Windows). Prepared and executed several MIPS training sessions for FRBNY Traders, Quick America and Micrognosis staff.

Pall Corporation - Senior Software Engineer

Design and development of all software components for an automatic blood processing device. The Blood Auto-processor is used by blood banks and facilitates the automated separation and filtration of donated whole blood and cord-blood (for Stem Cells). The resulting product is white cell depleted PRP (platelet rich plasma) and Red Cells. This design and coding is based on "C" and MS Visual Studio/C#. The entire software was developed following the GAMP (good automated manufacturing practices) guidelines. Design and development of a new generation biological filter test system (TruFlow). The design is based on Object Oriented Programming using Microsoft's Visual Studio/C++. A client sever relationship exists between the test unit's Motorola 6809 firmware and the MFC GUI application program. This program involves multi-lingual presentation (English, German, French, Spanish and Italian) of all user interfaces. Also responsible for enhancements and maintenance of all other PALL RAI filter test systems: PD01P-R, FFE03 and Compact-100. All programs are written in C/C++ language and comply with FDA software quality assurance requirements (ISO 9001, IEEE 730 'Standard for Software Quality Assurance Plan').
